The season lent is not about punishment but about formation.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0Jesus was led into the wilderness,<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">not to be punished but that his character, his integrity, his true nature, \u00a0who he was formed to be, would be\u00a0revealed in that hostile wilderness.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0The ashes, are empty and void of every value, except the reminder of Who are we when everything is stripped away by consuming fires and and circumstances of adversity.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">When all that remains is the incorruptible Spirit of the Most High, we are reminded of God who never leaves us alone, not in the fires of condemnation, not in the wilderness of exploitation and corruption.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nWhat will we \u201ctake up\u201d when the absence of \u201cwhat we give up\u201d\u00a0reminds us we are called in a different path and direction?<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\nJoin the Lenten journey beloved.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Season of Lent We often think about what we will \u201cGive up for Lent.
