First service held January 20, Church organized, 38 charter members. In the first decade of the twentieth century a small group of Lutherans living in Long Beach desired a church in which they might worship according to their Luthran background. The Reverend John Ziegler, who was a mission developer for the General Luthran Synod, was visiting the city at that time. He realized the potentialities of establishing another church in the growing seacoast town. Under his leadership a constitution was drafted and on February 24, 1907, thirty-eight charter numbers established Trinity Evangelical Luthran Church.
